Spring Branch ISD has reportedly fired one of its middle school teachers amid allegations the instructor had an inappropriate relationship with a student.

The female eighth-grade teacher at Memorial Middle School has not been charged with anything as of yet, but school officials did report the teacher/student relationship to authorities.

In a prepared statement from Spring Branch ISD, they noted the incident as well as their investigation: “We are deeply shocked and outraged by this alleged conduct. We will never tolerate any teacher or other employee who takes advantage of and harms a student. This allegation, if true, represents a complete breach of the trust that our children and our community place in our educators every day. We are saddened by these allegations, and we are very concerned about the well-being of the student and his family,” the school,” Spring Branch ISD said.

School officials reported the incident to: local Children’s Protective Services, the State Board for Educator Certification, the SBISD Police Department and the Spring Branch ISD Police Department.

Counselors were provided in the days ahead at the school.
