The memorial service for a firefighter who died after suffering an apparent heart attack at an apartment fire has been scheduled for next week. Senior Capt. Thomas W. Dillion’s memorial service will be held Monday. Dillion collapsed while responding to a fire at the Jade Stone apartments on Cook Road on Wednesday. He had over two decades of service to the Houston Fire Department.
Upon his collapse, firefighters immediately gave him CPR and rushed him to the West Houston Medical Center. He later died at the medical facility. The Harris County Institute of Forensic Sciences will determine the exact cause of Dillion’s death. At the time of his death, Dillion was filling in at the Houston Fire Department’s station 76 on Wednesday. He normally worked at state 69.
Dillion’s memorial service will be held at Second Baptist West, 19449 Katy Freeway, at 10:00 A.M. on Monday. Dillion left behind three children. His oldest child had a birthday on the day Dillion collapsed and died.
