If you have old medical records, tax information, credit cards or other personal papers you need to trash but are afraid to throw away, the Harris County Sheriff’s office has a solution for you just in time for spring cleaning: free shredding.
On March 24, the office will shred sensitive paperwork for no charge for private citizens. All paper products will be shredded at the site. Business are not included in this free service.
Documents must be in file (or “banker”) boxes or small grocery bags. There is a limit of five boxes or bags per household.
Batteries, glass and needles are not allowed.
The shredding services will be offered from 9 a.m. – noon at Harris County Substation located at 7900 Will Clayton Pkwy., Houston, TX 77338. If you have questions, call 713-759-9454.
