A woman was arrested and a man was injured after a domestic violence incident in a vehicle on the Gulf Freeway. According to Houston police, officers were dispatched to the inbound lanes of the Gulf Freeway near Clear Lake City Boulevard around 10:30am Wednesday. They were answering a man down call. Officers arrived and detained a woman from the vehicle parked on the shoulder of the freeway and a man was transported to an area hospital. There were also two small children who were in the vehicle. Children’s Protective Services (CPS) was notified to come out to the location. The children were reportedly not injured.
According to an eyewitness account from the wrecker driver who responded to the scene, a man was outside of the car bleeding from the neck area when he arrived. The wrecker driver also reportedly said the man was driving when he got into an argument with the female adult passenger in the car. The man reportedly punched the woman in the arm and at some point she got a knife and stabbed him in his neck.
Additional reports indicate that the officers searched a dark-colored Kia. It was the car the woman, the man and the children were riding in. Investigators said a tire iron was found on the front passenger’s seat and a bloody knife was on the driver’s seat of the car. Blood was reportedly spattered on the car’s front console. The names of the woman and man were not released at the time of this report. It is unclear when/if either the man or the woman are facing charges.
