The picture shows Houston police lining middle school students against a fence and and searching them. According to reports, the Pershing Middle School students left school on Wednesday after a fight broke out.
Additional reports indicate that Houston police arrived at the scene and searched the students for weapons. No weapons were found on students, no injuries were reported and no arrests were made. Reportedly a parent snapped the photo and posted it on Facebook. Afterwards, it reportedly received mixed reaction to those who viewed it. While some parents called the picture a display of racial profiling, other parents encouraged that judgement be reserved with limited information surrounding the circumstances of the photograph. Due to the search taking place off of Houston Independent School District’s grounds, there was no comment from school district officials.
