It was a warm sunny day on Sunday in Hermann Park as the Japan Festival gave festival goers seemingly endless opportunities to absorb the rich, diverse and amazing culture of Japan. From face-painting, martial arts exhibitions, kite-flying, authentic Japanese dancing to delicious Japanese food, many folks enjoyed being immersed in Japanese culture, history and fun! For well over a decade, the Japan Festival has been growing and proudly supports over 20,000 attendees each year. The Japan-America Society of Houston instituted the festival in 1993 with the objective of developing stronger bonds with those that are Japanese and live in Houston and its surrounding areas. This year just as years of the past provided a rich and layered blend of entrainment, culture and food for everyone! CLICK HERE to be taken to the Japan Festival website!
