Police say a 22-year-old woman who caused a car crash that killed one person and injured two more today will face charges of intoxicated manslaughter and intoxicated assault. The accident occurred at Tomball Parkway and Boudreaux Road in far northwest Harris County.
Investigators from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office said Amanda Lynn Wood’s blood alcohol level exceeded the legal limit at the time of the accident which occurred around 4 a.m., shortly after she left work at a local billiards hall. She was taken to Tomball Regional Hospital to treat a broken wrist she suffered in the accident.
According to the sheriff’s office, Woods was headed north on Tomball Parkway in a Chevrolet truck when she did not stop for a red light, rear-ending a four-door Kia, causing it to strike an eastbound Toyota Celica. The driver of the Kia died on impact. That person has not yet been identified.
The driver of the Toyota and a passenger of that car were rushed to hospitals with non-life-threatening injuries.
