A woman is charged with killing another woman whose burning body was found near George Bush Park last year. According to reports, Pilar Pineda Rodriguez who has been charged with capital murder, is accused of killing Norma Angelica Tapia. The body of Tapia was found in the 16000 block of Westheimer Parkway on July 6.
Authorities say that on July 5, Tapia’s co-workers last saw her getting into her car in the parking lot of Shish Kabob Cafe located on the Katy Freeway. Tapia’s car was found in the parking lot of the restaurant.
Rodriguez stands accused of killing Tapia. Reportedly, Tapia was dating the ex-boyfriend of Rodriguez. Additional reports indicate that Rodriguez has been linked to Tapia’s death through DNA found at the scene and other evidence in which Rodriguez has been connected. Rodriguez, 55, is being held in the Harris County Jail without bond. She was charged with capital murder on April 6. She has a scheduled court appearance on Wednesday.
