Reward Offered For Sex Offender Who Escaped Transitional Facility

Authorities are offering a reward for information leading to the capture of Michael Elbert Young who escaped from the Southeast Texas Transitional Facility last Thursday. A $7,500 reward is being offered for any information on the whereabouts of Young who is considered a high-risk sex offender. According to reports, Young was released from prison after completing a 20-year sentence for attempted aggravated sexual assault. He had only been at the transitional facility for about a week before he escaped.

Additional details indicate that Young has an extensive criminal history in Harris County that dates back as early as April 1987. Then, Young was accused of stopping a woman on a street and putting a knife to her throat. Authorities say that he may be mentally unstable as a result of not taking prescribed medication and may be armed and dangerous. Young reportedly has a a sixth-grade education and it is believed that he has family members and friends that live in the Houston area.

He is described as a black male who stands approximately five feet, six inches tall. He was last seen wearing a dark blue T-shirt, blue jeans and a dark blue baseball cap. Young also has several tattoos. One tattoo appears on Young’s right upper arm that reads,“South Park for Life”. He sports another tattoo that is located on his neck that reads “Evelyn”. Tattoos on his right and left chest read “Mom” and “Audra”. Anyone with information that can assist authorities with the capture of Young are urged to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-252-TIPS, the FBI or 911.
