An SUV driven by a bank employee ends up 40 feet in the lobby of the Chase Bank on Silber near the Katy Freeway. HPD Officer Ron Brooks tells News 92 FM that the employee usually opens every day and backs into a parking space. But Wednesday morning, the Honda Pilot barreled right through glass front doors and more than halfway inside the building.
The good news is that there was no one inside because accident happened before the bank was scheduled to open. The driver was not hurt. There is considerable damage to the structure. The front doors of the bank were knocked to the ground, glass litters the entry way and cubicle walls sit on the carpet. Yellow caution tape now skirts the entrance. No word as to when the bank will reopen.
