Los Angeles Lakers/NBA(SAN ANTONIO) — Los Angeles Lakers center Andrew Bynum did something that hasn’t been done in over two years in the NBA.  Bynum pulled down 30 rebounds in the Lakers (37-22) 98-84 win over the Spurs on Wednesday night.

Kobe Bryant missed his third straight game in a row, but Metta World Peace made up for Bryant’s absence with 26 points of his own.  Pau Gasol added 21 for a rout of the surging Spurs.

“It’s great to have 30 boards, but my shot’s not working and I’m (a) little upset about that,” said Bynum, who scored 16 in the game. “For me, I’ll remember shooting poorly. They had some airballs that fell right to me, so I just had my hands ready.”

The Lakers defense held the Spurs (40-16) big three of Tony Parker, Tim Duncan, and Manu Ginobili to just 27 points total.

“They played great and beat us to death,” Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich said. “There’s nothing else you can say about it.”
