Cypress-Fairbanks ISD has been named the best large district in the state of Texas by grocer H-E-B. The district received the honor at the 2012 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards with $100,000 going toward the district.
Approximately 108,000 students are within the Cy Fair ISD, making it the third-largest district in the state. The district covers a small portion of Houston (including the Fairbanks section), the city of Jersey Village, and other unincorporated areas in Harris County which include Cypress. The Cypress-Fairbanks Independent School District (Cy-Fair ISD) was created by the merger of the Cypress School District and the Fairbanks School District.
