A woman who has been identified as Cecilia Sanders was found fatally stabbed in her north Houston apartment early Monday morning. During the midnight hour Monday, Houston police homicide detectives were called to a complex in the 5600-block of Yale. The 27-year-old female victim was found inside the apartment home.
Reports indicate that the mother of the victim came to the apartment, went inside and discovered her daughter dead in a bedroom. According to police, the 27-year-old woman had been stabbed multiple times.
According to family members of the victim, the woman had two small children, an eight-month-old and a three-year-old. Authorities said that the older child was in a closet at the time of their mother’s murder and possibly witnessed the entire stabbing. The eight-month-old child was found near the mother’s body.
The three-year-old child may hay have been hit on the head during the attack. Both of children were taken to the hospital as a precautionary measure.
Police said the woman’s boyfriend is a person of interest and is wanted for questioning.
