Texas Leads In Drowning Deaths Between Memorial and Labor Day

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission reports that, nationwide, 137 children under 15 years old drowned a pool or spa between Memorial Day and Labor Day.

At least 100 of the 137 victims were younger than 5 years old and 54 of the drowning occurred soon after the children left an adult who was in their immediate vicinity.

Texas leads the nation with 17 deaths, followed by California with 10, Ohio with nine and Arizona and Michigan with eight a piece.
