(NEW YORK) — A judge in New York has dismissed a lawsuit against the organizers of the so-called Ground Zero Mosque.
Vincent Forras, a 9/11 first responder, said those behind the planned Islamic cultural center in lower Manhattan were tied to terrorists and sought to inflict severe emotional distress. He sued for damages for nuisance, infliction of distress and assault.
The developers of the mosque and cultural center called the lawsuit a publicity stunt and blind bigotry and now a judge in New York has dismissed it, saying Forras failed to show any threatening conduct.
