A Galveston school assistant principal is on leave after a drug arrest. News 92 FM’s Trey Westerburg has details.
John Daniel Hayman, 33, is an assistant principal at Austin Middle School in Galveston. He is now accused of possession of meth.
Police say on November 4 a vice investigation was being conducted at the 24-7 adult video store in the 9900 hundred block of the Gulf Freeway into allegations of indecent exposure and prostitution.
At around 9:45 p.m., both uniformed and undercover officers entered the store, which contains several small rooms where videos are displayed. When they asked all customers to exit the rooms, one door remained locked. Upon opening the door with the manager’s key, police discovered Hayman inside, along with what was later determined to be crystal methamphetamine.
Hayman has been placed on paid administrative leave by Galveston ISD pending an investigation.
