A wonderful organization is partnering with school and community leaders again this year to provide bicycles to underprivileged children for the holidays. Elves And More delivered over one hundred and sixteen thousand bicycles in their history and are looking for donations to continue their program. Rebecca Roberts is the Executive Director for Elves and More joined News 92 FM’s Kevin Charles:

By partnering with school and community leaders, Elves And More is changing lives — one bike at a time. Providing bicycles to under privileged children allows them to get to after school events, tutors, mentors, and jobs.

Each child signs a contract with their teacher. If they meet the contract, they have earned a bike. Students who do not fulfill their contract do not receive a bike. While this is difficult, it also teaches valuable life lessons.

Through 2011 Elves And More has delivered over 116,000 bicycles to underprivileged children.

In 2012, the group will give away their 125,000 bicycles to children in the Greater Houston Area.

You can help them reach that goal and continue changing children’s lives one bike at a time.. Each $50 donation buys a bicycle and gives one child a better chance of attending extra tutoring, an after school activity, and being with a mentor that can positively direct their life.
