NEWS 92 FM’s Carolyn Campbell has more:
Investigators are still trying to figure out how loads of pot got onto the bus. The bus was hauling student athletes on Monday night when investigators say the driver stumbled across 500 pounds of marijuana.
The Van Horn High School basketball team was on its way back home after playing a game in the border city of Presidio.
Van Horn is in the Culberson County Allamoore Independent School District.
According to a Border Patrol agent, when the team stopped at a convenience store in Marfa for snacks, the driver opened the bus cargo door, and saw the duggel bags loaded with marijuana.
So far, no arrests and no word on how the marijuana got on board the school bus.
