Here’s another reason to avoid checking bags before your flight.
On Thursday, U.S. Customs and Border Protection announced an expanded version of the pilot program it launched at Houston’s Bush Intercontinental Airport in 2010 to reduce processing times for international fliers traveling with carry-on luggage only.
Chron.com reports that in May 2010, three lines at the Terminal E customs checkpoint, known as the Federal Inspection Services Facility, were dedicated to the first-of-its-kind program known as One-Stop.
It allows international fliers who aren’t picking up checked bags to bypass a second inspection line they’d otherwise have to go through and saves them an average of 17 minutes.
