Some might say the world seems to have developed a bad attitude about HIV/AIDS. That’s the focus of attention for World AIDS Day tomorrow. News 92 FM’s JP Pritchard has more:
University of Texas Health Science Center AIDS researcher Dr. Adan Rios has been working in the field for three decades. But Dr. Rios says people now minimize the threat of HIV/AIDS because the prognosis has gone from almost certain death to disease management with various drugs.
Rios says the world needs to renew public warnings about dangers from the disease. Warnings that remind people that living with the disease is no picnic. He added there needs to be a renewed effort to develop a preventative vaccine against the virus.
