We love our pets. Dogs, cats, and even birds become our best friends and we’re known to go to great lengths to make them happy. If you spend enough time around your pet, you soon realize that they don’t always get the credit they deserve for adapting to life around humans, and that statement has never been more true than in our Video of the Day this morning which features a parrot named Pepper who can literally drive a joystick-powered buggy that was built just for her.
You’re going to be truly amazed as Pepper stands on her perch and maneuvers the buggy with her beak with very little problem, and not just in one direction either. Be it forward, backward, or making right and left turns, Pepper puts some real human drivers to shame. The buggy was built with bumper sensors on the front, an infrared sensor to help prevent any front-end crashes, and even a self-docking mechanism once Pepper gets to where she’s going.
And so, I present to you the BirdBuggy! It’s a pretty amazing piece of technology on its own, but when you add in the bird who controls it, it’s truly impressive and something you’ve almost certainly never seen before. Fido, eat your heart out!
