Nearly two months after the skeletal remains of a teenage girl were found dumped on the side of a road in north Harris County, investigators are still having a tough time identifying her.

Doctors with the Harris County Institute of Forensic Science say they desperately want to track down the victim’s family.

Investigators say the girl’s remains were discovered on October 16. A man contacted authorities, reporting the remains were found in black garbage bags on the 12000 block of Walters Road.

The medical examiner’s office determined the victim is between 15 and 17 years old, is possibly bi-racial and has short, curly hair.

The girl was last wearing cargo pants and a t-shirt with the image of the cartoon character Smurfette.

Anyone with information should contact Crime Stoppers of Houston at 713-222-TIPS.
