Tragedy strikes a Montgomery County family as a three-year old-boy is killed in a fire.
NEWS 92 FM’s Trey Westerburg has more:
The fire broke out around 1 a.m. Saturday morning on Todd Rd., west of Magnolia off of Hwy 1488.
Dakota Myers and his 10-year-old cousin were at home inside their trailer, while his mother was next door visiting friends.
Montgomery County Assistant Fire Marshall Scott Burlin says by the time help arrived, it was too late.
The ten-year-old cousin was able to escape before the flames spread.
The mom and young boy had just moved into the trailer three days ago.
Burlin says fire deaths have been way below average this year, and for it to happen during the holidays is especially difficult.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
