A Houston man is jailed, accused of attacking two elderly females in a Cleveland housing complex, and police are crediting an alert neighbor for his capture. NEWS 92 FM’s Martha Martinez reports:
Investigators say the first attack occurred about 9 p.m. on the night of December 20th, when a 69-year-old woman was raped by a heavyset black male.
Shortly before 1 a.m. on Christmas morning, an 81-year-old woman was attacked by a man in her bedroom. She managed to fight back, scream and break some glass, which got a neighbor’s attention.
That neighbor spotted the suspect running out the back door, grabbed his weapon and fired a shot into the air.
When officers arrived, the neighbor told them where the suspect had run. When he was arrested, 42-year-old Demetrius Donielle Jackson was bleeding from a fresh cut on his hand and was in possession of a crack pipe.
He was charged with possession of a controlled substance and burglary with intent to commit another felony and is being held in the Liberty County Jail on a half million dollars bond.
Once DNA and other forensic tests are completed, he could face more charges.
