“It was terrifying. That night was one of the most horrrific nights in my life,” says Jessica Easterling.
On December 14th, Easterling and her family experienced 15 minutes of horror.
At 10 p.m. that evening, three or four unidentified black males forced their way into the Easterling’s apartment and demanded money.
As they ransacked through the residence, investigators say one of the suspects shot and killed Jessica’s younger brother, James Dillon.
The lead investigator, Harris County Sheriff’s deputy Cory Pool, told NEWS 92 FM, “He was asleep when the suspects gained entry. Everyone was ordered to the floor. He was left on the couch asleep.
“Shortly after they gained entrance, Mr. Dillon woke up and stood up. I’m sure he was unaware of what was going on and obviously they took that as some sort of threat.”
Pool says one of the suspects covered his face, but two others did not.
Jessica says her entire family, including her four year old daughter, can’t get over their loss.
“For my brother to be gone. It just hurts so bad because I don’t have him here anymore. He’s never coming back.”
Harris County Sheriff Adrian Garcia urges anyone with information on this crime to call Crimestoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
“We want your tips so we can put these killers behind bars. Hopefully put them before the district attorney and maybe try them for murder.”
A cash reward of up to $5,000 dollars will be offered if your information leads to an arrest. All information is confidential.
