There’s a lovely irony in this:
The search for Natural Gas deposits from Texas to Pennsylvania is slowly evolving into a process that will be powered by the very energy source being sought.
Apache Corporation has recently drilled a well in Oklahoma using engines fueled by natural gas to pump water, mud and chemicals downhole to “frack” the geologic formations to reach natural gas.
“Fracking” is the jargon for Hydraulic Fracturing technology, which literally breaks apart rock formations to release energy deposits.
Not only do the gas-fuel engines cost less to operate, the cleaner-burning fuel eliminates the dirt and soot generated by conventional diesel engines.
