An off-duty Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy is okay this morning after he shot and killed a suspect outside a North Houston restaurant. NEWS 92 FM’s Martha Martinez reports:
The sheriff’s office says two men started fighting inside the Michoacan restaurant on I-45 near E. Airtex , then moved out into the parking lot.
Witnesses told police one of the men pulled a gun and fired shots, but didn’t hit anyone. The other man reportedly then pulled a knife and stabbed the shooter.
An off-duty deputy working security nearby saw the incident, drew his weapon, and ordered the man to drop his knife. Instead, he continued the attack.
The deputy opened fire, killing the suspect. The stabbing victim was taken to the hospital in serious condition.
Reportedly, the altercation started when the men’s girlfriends bumped into each other in the restaurant.
