A new salmonella outbreak is being reported in five states reports ABC’s Alex Stone.
At least 16 people have now gotten sick from Salmonella poisoning in Illinois, Iowa, Wisconsin, Michigan, and Arizona. The CDC says they all got sick from ground beef. Several ate raw meat in a dish at a restaurant before they were infected.
Two meat companies in Michigan linked to the outbreak are now recalling about a thousand pounds of ground beef. The CDC says it’s important to stay away from raw and undercooked beef — even if it’s served in a restaurant.
