Some lawmakers in Arizona say federal gun control laws won’t take affect in their state. ABC News’ Alex Stone has more:
A similar bill has been proposed in Texas.
The bill that would bar new federal gun laws from taking effect in Arizona has now made its way through a state Senate committee. It would specifically apply to any laws impacting access to semi-automatic weapons and high capacity magazines.
In a hearing, there was intense debate. Democrats said the bill is unconstitutional. An identical bill has been introduced in Arizona’s House.
