A Houston teen is in stable condition after being brutally assaulted Tuesday night. For a while, her condition kept investigators from gathering first hand information. Now they’re asking for your help. NEWS 92 FM’s Matt Sampsell has the latest.
The 16-year-old victim was walking in Spring Cypress near Skinner Rd., around 11 p.m. Tuesday night.
Deputy Armando Tamez is with the Harris County Sheriff’s Crimes Against Children division.
“She says that she hears someone walking up behind her,” Tamez said. “She turns around and the suspect begins to assault her with some type of a blunt object.”
Tamez believes the suspect intended to kill the teen.
“This guy, there was absolutely no doubt in my mind. He did a real number on this girl,” he said.
Sheriff’s Lt. Ruben Diaz said the victim was so injured, that people that saw her thought she had clothes on. People thought she had a red dress on.
He adds the victim is listed in critical but stable condition at Memorial Hermann.
The suspect is described as a white male in his early 20’s about 5-feet-10-inches tall with a muscular build and light colored eyes.
