Wrestling Cut from 2020 Olympic Games
If you’re a fan of Olympic wrestling, I’ve got some tough news: The International Olympic Committee opted to dump the sport for the 2020 games. Wrestling was considered one of the 25 core sports at the games, and has been an event since the inaugural modern games in 1896.
It was voted out after a commision report that analyses things like TVratings, tickets sales, global participation and popularity. So baseball, softball and wrestling are out of the Olympics, but power walking is still in.
