Driver Leads HPD On Chase, Crashes Into Two Patrol Cars

A man is arrested after leading Houston police on a chase and then allegedly trying to hit two officers with his vehicle.

According to reports, the suspect got into an argument with valet employees at Laurenzo’s Restaurant on Washington Avenue. He is said to have revved his engine in an effort to intimidated them.

Employees called police who arrived and tried to talk to the suspect, but he drove away. During the chase, the suspect reportedly lost control of his vehicle and headed in the direction of the officers. He accelerated toward them, causing them to fire at the suspect on Washington at Houston Avenue near downtown but they missed.

Investigators say the suspect ended up crashing into two different patrol units before one officer used a taser to subdue him. Police say no one was hurt.

The suspect could face charges of aggravated assault on a police officer.
