The gift of flight is one that we humans missed out on. So many of us have, at one time or another, sat and watched a giant bird with a massive wingspan catching the updrafts and soaring effortlessly through the sky. Unfortunately the closest we’ll ever really get to flying is by hopping an airplane to get to our destination. However, over the years there have been jet packs that have made a subtle appearance on the scene, although never mass produced. Still, I’ve always wanted one, and what I’ve got for our Video of the Day is one of the coolest things I’ve seen in a while.
A company has created a new water-powered jet boot which uses a large hose attached to a pair of boots for propulsion. After strapping the boots to the feet, the lucky wearer can glide like a dolphin through the water, and even breach the surface with the greatest of ease. The coolest part, though, is the way the wearer can rise above the surface of the water and almost hover over it before making a rapid head-first dive back in.
This thing is cool. Really cool. Like, incredibly cool.
I guess the next question is, where do I sign up?
