The director of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston Gary Tinterow calls Picasso “indisputably the most important artist of the 20th century… the most innovative and the most influential.” News 92 FM’s Mike Barajas has more:
Now you can see the exhibit titled “Picasso Black and White,” an unprecedented examination of Picasso’s black and white palette.
“The black and white work was his most private work for the most part his most experimental work. You really get inside his mind, certainly inside his studio when you walk through this exhibition.
Tinterow, a world-renowned Picasso scholar, says the artist’s work is very personal.
“Much of it autobiographical. he talks about his passions, his loves, the important women in his life,” Tinterow.
He says Picasso succeeded in developing a new language for pictorial expression.
