Just days before the start of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo — as always – a Texas-sized cook-off. News 92 FM’s Trey Westerburg gives us a taste:
Jack Alfred’s hoot county saloon is one of hundreds of teams are set to compete in the world championship bar-b-cue contest going on until Saturday at Reliant Stadium. Robert Smith’s group, Krazy Kookers, was a big winner last year.
But George Williford with Stockyard Smokers and Lightweights says it’s all about customer satisfaction.
The gates open at 5 p.m. today, with the competition set to begin Friday.
