A teenaged girl in north Houston says she was approached by a man with a gun Friday afternoon.
Published reports say 13-year-old Vanessa Piñeda said she felt like she was being watched on her walk home from Stovall Middle School. A man pulled up alongside her near the corner of San Fernando and Dogwood Tree and told her to get in his car. When she refused, he pulled a handgun, and Piñeda ran. She made it home safely and her aunt called police, but by the time they arrived the suspect had disappeared. Piñeda’s aunt says she has warned her about this before and insists on walking her niece to and from school from here on out.
