4-Year-Old Boy Accidentally Shoots, Kills Self; Father Arrested

A father is arrested after his young son accidentally shoots and kills himself. Houston Police officers were called to an apartment on Northborough Dr., near West Rankin and began to perform CPR on 4-year-old Jaiden Calloway, but he died at the scene.

Jaiden’s father, 20-year-old Marquiez Pratt, was asleep when Jaiden found the handgun and shot himself in the abdomen. Authorities found crack cocaine and marijuana in the home and say the gun had been stolen in a 2011 burglary.

Pratt is charged with endangering a child and possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
