DNA evidence was used to solve a very cold case: A 30-year-old murder in north Texas. News 92 FM’s Martha Martinez has more:

Benjamin Bewley was arrested in west Texas for driving while intoxicated in november. Jailers in Abilene say the 48-year-old was being held without bond on the dwi charge and for violating his parole. Meanwhile, police investigating the murder of Fort Worth pawn shop owner Melvin Lavine in March of 1983 entered DNA evidence into a federal data base and a confirmed match to bewley emerged. He now faces a charge of capital murder.
