The long-awaited conclave to elect a new pope gets underway in Rome Tuesday. Among those participating in the voting is Cardinal Daniel DiNardo, leader of the Archdiocese of Galveston-Houston. Archdiocese spokesman Father Sean Horrigan says the cardinals now have a better grasp of which candidates they favor.
The new pope will likely be one of the cardinals participating in the conclave. Father Horrigan says technically someone outside the circle of cardinals could be selected, but he says that is extremely unlikely.
