Researchers have found a cure for earworms, and it has nothing to do with medication. News 92 FM’s Martha Martinez reports:

It happens to everyone at some point: A song, or part of one, gets stuck playing in your head, over and over again. Scientists at Western Washington University have studied the stuck song syndrome, technically known as an “earworm.” They discovered it can be fought most effectively with simple verbal puzzles, like anagrams.  Other puzzles, like sudoku, are slightly helpful, but the research showed the tasks have to be kept really simple.

Five letter anagrams work best. So, the next time you have something like this ricocheting around your cranium, take a word like “field” or “lured” and shift the letters around to make new words.

That should spell “death” to the tune you hated.
