A Dallas-area district attorney and his wife are murdered two months after the assistant district attorney is gunned down outside a courthouse.
District Attorney Mike McLelland and his wife, Cynthia McLelland, were found shot to death in their home Saturday evening, according to published reports.
The front door of the McClelland’s home kicked in, and police say a .223-caliber assault rifle was used in the murders with approximately 14 rounds being fired, according to WFAA, in Dallas.
The FBI, Texas Rangers and DPS are now involved in the investigation, in addition to deputies from Kaufman County and the City of Forney.
Assistant District Attorney Mark Hasse was gunned down outside the Kaufman County Courthouse almost two months ago to the day.
A suspect has not been caught in that case. Police have not said whether these murders are related.
The McLelland’s are survived by five children, two daughters and three sons. One of their sons is an officer with the Dallas Police Department, according to the DA’s website.
