Houston History Conference

Learn more about the history of Houston this weekend, when the Houston History Association presents its third annual Houston history conference.

Don’t worry. This is not you typical history lecture. The name alone tells you that much. Its called “Rogues, Rascals and Role Models: Famous and Infamous Residents of the Bayou City.” Katy Butterwick is a volunteer board member of the Houston History Assocation.

“As for ‘Rogues and Rascals,’ we kinda run the gamut,” Butterwick said. “All the way from those that worked in our very active bordellos in downtown.”

See I told you this not your father’s history lesson.

“Maybe not quite so rascally, but at least very interesting, talking about the folks that have built and designed Houston landmarks like the Orange Show and the Beer Can House,” Butterwick added.

The conference is happening Saturday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the Julia Ideson Library Building downtown.
