How The Dow Jones Industrial Average, Other Major Indexes Fared Friday

The stock market is closing out its third straight week of gains. Small-company stocks fared better than blue chips.

The Dow Jones industrial average rose 35.87 points, or 0.2 percent, to close at 15,118.49.

The Standard & Poor’s 500 index climbed 7.03 points, or 0.4 percent, to 1,633.70.

The Nasdaq composite index rose 27.41 points, or 0.8 percent, to 3,436.58.

For the week:

The Dow is up 144.53, or 1 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 19.28, or 1.2 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 57.95, or 1.7 percent.

For the year:

The Dow is up 2,014.35 points, or 15.4 percent.

The S&P 500 is up 207.51 points, or 14.6 percent.

The Nasdaq is up 417.07 points, or 13.8 percent.
