No new taxes and city employees will get small increases — that’s the word from Houston’s Mayor Annise Parker as she rolls out next year’s budget.
The mayor says the city of Houston has survived some tough economic times and is now doing well enough to take care of some priorities that had been put on hold. One of them is giving city employees a three percent raise.
Mayor Annise Parker says her $4.9 billion proposed budget will not require a tax increase, but will still provide citizens with necessary services. City council must still approve the mayor’s budget.
