Governor Rick Perry is taking Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley’s challenge and is headed to Maryland next week. He’ll be there as part of his campaign to lure businesses and workers to Texas. This comes after Perry launched a series of ads, calling out O’Malley for vetoing a tax cut bill. In response to the ads, O’Malley says Perry should check out Maryland first hand.

So, Governor Perry will hold a business reception for Maryland business owners on September 18 in Maryland. Similar ads ran earlier this year in New York, Connecticut, California, Illinois and Missouri and Perry has visited most of those states to talk to business owners.
The new spot says Maryland Governor Martin O’Malley “has made Maryland the tax and fee state, where businesses and families are paying some of the highest taxes in America.”

Perry has also made a play for gun manufacturers in states were new, more-restrictive gun laws have been passed.
What all these states have in common is that their Governors are all Democrats.
