The black crystal baccarat decanter of this highly coveted spirit arrived Tuesday morning in luxurious style, escorted by a 2005 Rolls Royce Phantom.
Remy Cointreau USA VP of prestige brands Yves De Launay personally flew in from france to present the bottle to spec’s CEO John Rydman. The bottle is one of 738 produced for the world market. It retails for $22 thousand dollars, plus tax.
Rydman says he has already turned down offers above the retail price because he wants to sell it to someone in Texas.
The taste of this rare spirit is described as featuring the autumnal flavors of plum, dates, and gingerbread with a final touch of tobacco leaf.
