Beware Of Scammers Trying To Help With Obamacare

Beginning Tuesday people without health insurance will be able to sign up for it under the Affordable Care Act, Obamacare.  But scammers are already busy calling trying to rip off unsuspecting victims.

The Houston Better Business Bureau says con artists are cold calling people offering to help them obtain health insurance under Obamacare.

The BBB’S Leah Napoliello says the public should know the government will not be calling you to get your personal information “right, it is a red flag if someone just calls you out of the blue.”

She says scammers will ask people to give them their social security number and credit card information so they can rip them off.
So don’t give them that information.  Hang up.

Napoliello says “just realize that the government will not be calling you about the Affordable Care Act at all.”

She says don’t get fooled by caller I-D showing its the government calling, because often times its part of the scam.
