BRENHAM, Texas (AP) – A Washington County Sheriff’s Office jailer has been indicted on official oppression charges for assaulting an inmate.
Washington County Sheriff Otto Hanak said in a statement Saturday that a grand jury indicted jailer Christopher Kulow.
The case stems from an August 26th complaint filed by an inmate at the Washington County jail who said Kulow assaulted him.
Kulow has been on administrative leave since two days after the complaint was filed, pending an investigation.
The Texas Rangers conducted an investigation and provided details to the grand jury.
Hanak said Kulow was arrested Friday and has been dismissed from his job.
