Police in San Marcos say a 23-year-old college student from northwest Houston killed his ex-girlfriend and her new boyfriend before killing himself.
Investigators say Daniel Stillwell of Northwest Houston shot 22-year-old Hailey Nicholls of Kingwood, and 27-year-old Jesse Robledo of San Antonio in Nicholls’ bedroom.
Police say Nicholls and Stillwell had broken up recently after dating for more than a year. They say Stillwell saw Robledo’s car in front of Nicholl’s apartment, went back to his apartment in the same complex and grabbed his roomate’s gun. He then allegedly broke out the glass in the back door, went to the bedroom and killed them both.
Investigators say he called a friend, told him he’d hurt his girlfriend and that he was going to drive off a cliff. His body and car where later found at the bottom of a cliff in an area known as Devil’s Backbone in Comal County.
Stillwell, Nicholls and Robledo had all worked together at a San Marcos restaurant.
