(HOUSTON, TX)– Locally produced meat, produce and other items will now be available to West Houston residents.
The Westchase District launches a farmer’s market in the parking lot of St. Cyril of Alexandria Catholic Church on Westheimer, one block west of Beltway 8. vice president of communications for the district sherry fox says it’s is a way to connect the business community with residents.
“The farmer’s market kind of gives us a meeting place, a community center if you will whereby both audiences can meet and enjoy some good fresh vegetables.”
A 65-thousand dollar grant through the U.S.D.A.‘s Farmer’s Market Promotion Program is helping fund the project. The market is open and every Thursday rain or shine from 3pm until 6pm.
